Is there scholarship available for high school?

Yes, there are many scholarships available for high school students. Scholarships are a great way to help fund further education and make college more accessible for all types of students, regardless of need or background.

Scholarships can come from a variety of sources such as federal and state governments, private organizations and companies, educational institutions, nonprofits, religious organizations, ethnic groups or even the student’s own community. The U.S Department of Education offers several scholarship programs for high school students including:  Federal Pell Grant Program which provides grants to low-income students pursuing postsecondary education; Academic Competitiveness Grants (ACG) which are awarded to eligible first-and second-year undergraduate students who have successfully completed rigorous secondary school programs; National Science & Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (SMART) grant that recognizes exemplary achievement in math and science by awarding eligible recipients up to $4,000 each year while they pursue postsecondary degrees in these disciplines; Teaching Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) grant which helps teachers finance their college studies by providing up 4-year grants worth up to $4,000 per year; Hope Scholarship Tax Credit Program –the federal government’s most popular tax credit program–which offers families an income tax break when they send their children off to college by covering up tp $2K/yr tuition expenses if their student is enrolled at least half time with one year remaining before graduation..   There also is the Iraq & Afghanistan Service Grant which gives money equal to what would typically have been received through Federal Pell Grants but given on behalf of those killed during service in Iraq or Afghanistan after 9/11 since dependents of these mobilizes service members were not able eligible for FPG due to age restrictions.
